Local Geneva IL Teen Starts Cutting Support and Mental Health Support Group

Bree Carey is your typical teenager. She is a junior at Geneva High School and like most teenagers dealt with some pretty big issues including panic attacks, depression and cutting.

Unlike most teens Bree has chosen to use her experience with mental health issues to help other teens who face the same problems.

Bree created an online organization called A Cutter’s Guardian Angel where teens can speak openly an anonymously about these mental health issues. To date the group has over 4000 followers.

While Bree and A Cutter’s Guardian Angel have garnered a lot of support from mental health workers other experts are a bit concerned since the site is run by kids, not professionals.

A Cutter’s Guardian Angel is looking to create support groups in the tri state area with events held at local libraries for now.
