Michel practices independently at The Awakening Center in Chicago as an Eating Disorder Nutritionist, and enjoys assisting people develop a healthy relationship with food and physical activity in a holistic environment.
The goal of Dine is to provide individuals who are in the recovery process. Those who are in outpatient recovery, have recently transitions from outpatient therapy, partial hospitalization or as an inpatient for eating disorders.
Dine meets everything Thursday evening from 5:30 – 8:30pm. The group time includes dining together and processing the dining experience in group therapy in a caring, supportive environment. Group activities may include eating at a restaurant, ordering food in, and processing these experiences with the support of a trained clinician. Our group program also helps give you the tools you need to successfully navigate the pressures of the week and real-life outside of treatment.
Dine takes a strength based approach to facilitate those who are working to make a change and are seeking a full recovery from an eating disorder. Dine provides a caring environment around food and social eating. The Dine group meals take place in intentionally mindful environments. The settings are warm and inviting which can help facilitate engagement with those who participate and are looking for recovery from an eating disorder.
Dine is not a replacement for your current therapy and believes you should continue care with your current therapist while participating in Dine. Dine holds to the belief that your therapist knows you intimately and deeply and that relationship should remain consistent if there is to be a full recovery from your eating disorder. Dine provides added support, it is not a replacement for outpatient eating disorder therapy. If you do not currently have an eating disorder therapist we can help you find one.
